2013 FANTASTIC FIBERS

International Fiber Arts Competition: Fantastic Fibers
Now an American Quilter's Society sanctioned event, FANTASTIC FIBERS is an international competitive exhibition that seeks to showcase a wide range of outstanding works related to the fiber medium. The Yeiser Art Center is now accepting entries for the 2013 Fantastic Fibers competitive exhibition.
All 2013 entries will be placed and processed through the website:
Juror
The 2013 Fantastic Fibers juror is Rusty Freeman, Director of Visual Arts at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts. Cedarhurst, a premier regional arts institution, presents visual and performing arts to the public and is located in southern Illinois.
History
In 2012 we received nearly 400 entries from 159 artists from 10 countries. 53 works by 43 artists were chosen for the exhibit.
Fantastic Fibers 2013 is hosted by the Yeiser Art Center, Paducah's Gateway to the Arts. Located in downtown Paducah, the Yeiser Art Center is a non-profit visual arts organization celebrating more than fifty years of serving the community through exhibitions and education throughout the region.
Paducah is the home of the National Quilt Museum. The American Quilter's Society Annual Show and Contest will be held in Paducah from April 24th-27th, 2013, and accepted entries will be on display during this time.
Awards
First Place $1,000 | Second Place $500 | Third Place $250
Important Dates:
January 25 - Entry deadline
February 11 - Accepted artists notified
March 29 - Accepted entries due
April 6 - Opening reception 5PM-7PM
May 4 - Pick up hand-delivered work
May 8 - Return shipment of mailed work
