Text Messages  Open to all SAQA members Premiere Locations: International Quilt Festival - Houston, Texas, October 31-November 4, 2013 International Quilt Festival - Cincinnati, Ohio, April 4-6, 2014 International Quilt Festival - Long Beach, California, July 2014 Additional venues may be added Exhibition Concept: Text messages have fast become one of the most popular methods of communication in our country today. In this exhibit, you have free rein to explore the many facets of what 'text messages' means to you--from the obvious connection to modern technology to works comprised solely of actual or implied writing. The unifying theme will be text on quilts, in any language, and each quilt must contain at least one visible letter or word. Have you ever seen red, felt blue or been green with envy? Spin the color wheel and your mood may encompass the full spectrum of the rainbow. The range of color used in this exhibit will convey a sense of emotion or feeling expressed by the artists. Viewers will interpret the theme based on their understanding and response to the color palette and overall design.
