Plea for Comfort Quilts for Japan- this was taken off the SAQA yahoo group.

For those who are interested in sending quilts to Japan, there was an updated message from Naomi who asked that quilts not be mailed until later in April due to the confusion at the moment.
Also for those who are concerned about the shipping costs to Japan, Luana Rubin of eQuilter.com has information on her blog about their partnership with Mission of Love to send quilts to Japan.
From Luana's Blog:
"We will ask you to either ship the donated quilts directly to Mission of Love in Youngstown Ohio, or deliver them *in person* to eQuilter in Boulder Colorado. DO NOT ship them to us in Boulder - any shipped quilt donations should be sent directly to Mission of Love. Shipping to Boulder will only delay the arrival of your quilts in Youngstown Ohio. eQuilter will be happy to cover the cost of shipping quilts from Boulder to Ohio, but only if they are dropped off in person at our warehouse."

Personally, I think it is wonderful of anyone who feels called to donate in whatever form they choose.
I will continue to update the Japanese relief effort area whenever I have more information.

I just saw this post on Tanya Watanabe's blog. She translates the Call for Comfort Quilts and adds an update that Quilter's Newsletter is coordinating a shipment to Japan if you can ship to Quilters Newsletter in Colorado. See her blog for more details:
