April 6th Meeting in Hanover, NH

This is a reminder that the next ME/NH/VT SAQA meeting is in Hanover, NH on April 6th.

This is open to the public. Bring friends.

Itinerary:

10:00 : Hood Museum

Meet Margaret at the Hood Museum at Dartmouth College for a docent led tour of their permanent collection. http://hoodmuseum.dartmouth.edu/ The Hood Museum is free. They accept donations at the door. Also, there will be time to do some sketching so bring your journals/sketchbooks.

11:30 : League of NH Craftsmen Store,  http://www.craftstudies.org/

Walk through the League of NH Craftsmen Hanover, NH store.

Noon : Howe Library, Mayer Room, http://www.thehowe.org/

Pot Luck Lunch/Networking

A-G bring any type of spaghetti sauce, 

H - P bring salads or desserts, 

Q - Z bring sodas, juices, or bread

To the Howe Library                        
Take Exit 13 (Norwich) from I-91 in Vermont. Cross the river and follow West Wheelock Street to Main Street in Hanover. Turn right on Main Street and go south two blocks to South Street.  Turn left and go one block.
From East and South on I-89 in New Hampshire, take Exit 18 (Lebanon-Hanover) and follow Rte 120 north to Hanover.  In Hanover, bear left on Lebanon Street where it intersects with Rte 120. (Hanover Food Coop and Ledyard Bank are at this intersection.). From Lebanon Street, turn left on Sanborn Place (at St. Denis Church) and go one block. Parking is available in the lot across from the main entrance, in the side lot along Currier Place, and in the Town of Hanover Parking Garage diagonally across from the library.  You can get a voucher from the library for one free hour of parking in the Parking Garage.

To the Hood Museum

From Concord NH: (about 1.25 hours)

Take I-89 north and get off at Exit 18 in Lebanon, NH, onto Rt. 120. Bear right off the exit, heading north into Hanover. After 4.1 miles Rt. 120 forks at a traffic light. Bear right at the fork, following Rt. 120 one-half mile on South Park Street to the second traffic light. Turn left at the light, onto East Wheelock Street. After two-tenths of a mile, you will come to the Hopkins Center for the Arts (left) and the Dartmouth Green (right). The Hood Museum of Art is set back from the street through the archway to the left.

From Burlington, VT (about 1.5 hours):
Take I-89 south to I-91 north in White River Junction, VT. Take I-91 north to exit 13 at Norwich, VT. Bear right off the exit and cross the bridge. Continue up the hill (West Wheelock Street) to the traffic light in the center of town. Go straight through this intersection; the Green will be on your left, and on your right will be the Hanover Inn, the Hopkins Center, and the Hood Museum of Art (which is set back from the street).

Metered public parking is available in front of the museum on both sides of Wheelock Street and behind the museum on Lebanon Street. An all-day public parking garage is also located on Lebanon Street.
There is accessible parking on the south side of Wheelock Street, across from the Green. From there go under the Hood archway and immediately turn left and follow the ramp to the entrance of the museum.
