Celebrate Noon Year’s Eve 2013 at the Currier!

Last year, Noon Year's Eve was the talk of the town with almost 700 people at the Currier! Ring in 2014 with bubble-wrap fireworks and a huge balloon drop at Manchester's largest family-friendly New Year's Eve celebration! Enjoy festive art-making activities, face painting, ice carving, magic and music. Take a scavenger hunt around the galleries. Toast the New Year with sparkling cider and enjoy lunch and hot cocoa in the Winter Garden Café, featuring a delicious kid’s menu. Dress in your party best and celebrate the New Year at the Currier.

Event Schedule:

10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Ice carving demonstration by Ice Breakers, scavenger hunt, photo portraits, face painting, art-making and access to a special quiet room.

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Winter Garden Café open with family-friendly food options.

11:00 a.m., noon, 1:00 p.m.
The amazing Magic of David Hall and live music by guitarist John Chouinard. Please indicate which performance you will attend when purchasing event tickets.

2:50 p.m.
Countdown to New Year’s with bubble-wrap “fireworks” and balloon drop in the Winter Garden Café.

Africa Interweave: Textile Diasporas

Sept. 28, 2013 — Jan. 12, 2014

Featuring more than 40 textiles, garments and other works of art, this exhibition offers the opportunity to experience the aesthetic power and rich cultural histories of textiles produced across the continent of Africa. Whether used for everyday functions, high fashion, costumes or sacred rituals, the textiles featured in this exhibition highlight the diverse influences that continue to shape these vibrant art forms, including the regional and global exchange of ideas, techniques and materials.
