At the Festival enjoy hundreds of beautiful contemporary and antique quilts on display. Several special exhibits, including quilts from the Pilgrim/Roy collection, Mickey Lawler, and Anne Gallo, Susan Raban and Aileen Chutter will inspire and delight you. The Contest Quilt exhibit showcases more quilts than ever in varying styles, techniques and colors and includes a youth division.
In your spare time, take in the free vendor demonstrations and gallery talks, shop the colorful merchants mall and the VQF Boutique for the latest fabrics, notions, supplies, and more. And bring your new or antique quilt to be appraised by the best appraisers in the business.
The evening lectures with Kimberly Einmo and Pat Sloan on Friday promise to be entertaining. After the lectures, door prizes galore are awarded to many lucky quilters. Booth Hop and the Textile Detectives add to the excitement.
The annual SewBatik Challenge invites you to participate in the 'Weather Patterns' theme for a chance to win a basket full of beautiful SewBatik fabrics valued at more than $100. Participants have the option of entering their challenge quilt into a silent auction to benefit Hurricane Irene victims. The deadline is now May 31.
Come in time for the opening on Thursday evening, June 28, with the Awards Ceremony honoring the winning contest quilts and their creators at 6:30pm. The always festive Champagne and Chocolate Preview gives you the chance to be among the first to see the exhibits and to shop the extensive merchants mall. The Preview begins at 7:30pm; tickets are $12 at the door.
